Can you really KILL someone?
Bhagavad Gita, Verse 2.21 explained
Introduction
Bhagavad Gita is a conversation between Krishna and Arjun. This dialogue begins just before the war of Mahabharata is about to begin. On seeing his family in opposition, Arjun is gripped with fear and confusion and wants to run away, but Krishna convinces him to fight and tells Arjun why he today raise his weapons to kill his brothers and relatives in this war.

Bhagavad Gita is 700 verses long, spread across 18 chapters. Here we will understand Verse 21 of Chapter 2 of the Bhagavad Gita.
Verse 2.21
वेदाविनाशिनं नित्यं य एनमजमव्ययम् |
कथं स पुरुष: पार्थ कं घातयति हन्ति कम् || 21||
vedavinashinam nityam ya enam ajam avyayam
katham sa purushah partha kam ghatayati hanti kam
Translation
Hey Arjun, the person who knows that “It” is indestructible, unborn, eternal, and never changing, how can such a person kill someone or get someone killed?
Commentary:
Krishna continues to tell Arjun about the quality of the Soul. Soul is pure energy. Science has proved that energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, so similarly Soul also is unborn, and can’t be destroyed.
Science also tells us that energy has been there since the start of the universe, since the start of time itself. Thus Soul also is eternal.
Science tells us that pure energy, can’t change its nature. It can only manifest itself in various forms. Thus similarly Soul is unchanging when it comes to its core nature.
Can a Scientist say that he can destroy energy? No, he can’t for it will be a violation of the most fundamental laws of Science. So a man of science can dare say it without conclusive proof.
Similarly, a person who knows the truth about the soul can’t claim that he destroyed a soul directly or indirectly.
