Verses 1.34 and 1.35 explained

Translation:

And there are my maternal uncles, father-in-laws, Grandsons, brother-in-laws, and other relatives. I don’t want to kill them at all, even if they attack me.

Even if we get to rule over all the three lokas (worlds), let alone this earth, by killing Dhritarashtra’s sons what pleasure shall we get? O Krishna

Commentary:

Commentary:

Arjun, on seeing his entire clan around him, is feeling disturbed. He realises that war would cause the death of many in his own family. Everyone he was related to was there, as his relatives too were royals and had chosen sides. He realised that he would be killing many of his relatives with his own hands.

In that moment Arjun became disenchanted from the desire of war, for he didn’t want to be the killer of his own family, even if the cost was his own life!

This is significant as Arjun must have been preparing himself for the war, mentally and physically, since a long time. He started questioning the purpose of him fighting the war itself. He said even if they get the power to control the entire universe, it would not give anyone any pleasure as it will be tainted with the blood of his own family.
